Graco’s Contour Electra travel cot is something else. It’s got features that many people would never even dream to see included in a travel cot, let alone one made by a respected manufacturer such as Graco that usually doesn’t go all out in the way of inventive features and such. For instance, an internal, stock-fitted nightlight is a feature many will find useful. Some will find it useless, though, and the Electra cares neither way. It’s got great padded top rails so mommy and daddy will feel comfortable moving it around and when baby is gripping on, and this is just one of the features that will make this one of the best nursery furniture purchases you will have made.

For observant parents and those who like to keep in the loop with what their little one is up to, the Graco Electra travel cot has mesh sides that fit the bill. They look great, are easily washable and do not obscure or create fuzzy vision for the occupant or the parent looking from the side.

The design of this travel cot is also very unique. It is contoured and goes great with a lot of other items such as drawer cabinets made of pine and so on. A vibrating mattress is included which I found odd, but my baby has certainly not complained and she is sleeping like a… well, baby! Another note on the mattress of the Graco Contour Electra travel cot: it is very sturdy. You’ll be able to use this as a standard-size mattress for other baby travel cots and even regular baby cribs. It truly does provide the comfort of a regular crib with the portability and lighweight nature of a real travel cot. The best of both worlds, as many online reviews have stated. I’ll let you be the judge. Check out the videos at most online retailers and see for yourself.

Well, what is there to say about this particular travel cot? Online reviews have long penned it as a comfortable, sturdy and yet lightweight solution to your travel problems. Maybe you don’t have problems, but having a travel cot can’t be a bad thing, right? Anyway, concerning the light nature of this cot, some reviewers have noted that the actual travel cot isn’t that heavy (very easy to carry in fact!) but it is the paraphernalia that makes up the bulk of the weight. This is not a huge reason to dismiss the Hauck Baby Centre travel cot, though!

The mattress on this thing definitely feels sturdy and safe. You could even use it on a full-size cot later on or on a convertible cot and it simply wouldn’t be out of place. Very easy to wash as well! Let’s talk about set-up, because this can be a make-or-break deal in many cases.

This thing sets up in a breeze, unlike many competing travel cots. The Hauck travel cot is a wonderfully easy construction to pack up and fold away, and is therefore perfect for active and on-the-go parents who like to travel, or the regular family who likes stress free holidays. You can wheel the case through the airport for easy check in and so on, with your baby girl or boy tagging along quietly (ha! Who am I kidding, “quietly”…) behind you.

Once it’s set up, it can also be quite easily moved by its 4 wheels underneath each corner post. This makes for easy internal moving, and coupled with its great portability, it pretty much completes the traveling parents’ dream of a travel cot that is light, well-designed, looks great and has a firm, easy-to-wash mattress in the bundle. Great work, Hauck.

One of the main concerns for parents who have just bought a travel cot is the mattress and the comfort is can provide. Fact is, much of the baby’s sleep centers around the travel cot mattresses. From everything from the foam used to whether the covers are washable can really make a huge difference to your purchase decision regarding the mattress.

Sometimes travel cot mattresses will be treated with anti-allergen treatments and are certified eco, meaning the least potential hazard risk to your child from chemicals. The comfort factor is really determined by the foam used. Some manufacturers like Da Vinci and Million Dollar Baby insist on having a quite firm foam which gives maximum spine support for your newbord.

The size of the crib can also be hugely different. There are standard travel cot sizes that some mattresses adhere to, whereas other ones are round cots and therefore need special round mattresses. So you can either measure the diameter of the crib or take an existing mattress in to your nearby nursery department store for comparison so you can easily get a replacement. Some mattresses are quite easy to fold, and we must understand the difference between one made for a standard home crib and a travel cot. The latter is usually foldable type (as you fold the travel cot as well) while the home baby crib’s mattress is invariably non-foldable (or very hard!) but is also much more thick and allows for more padding and a higher quality foam. Get travel cot mattresses that are both comfortable and portable. If you cannot afford some of the luxury mattresses, get one that is affordable as well. The lower end of the baby crib mattress market has really taken off and with more competition than ever, it is easy to find a decent quality travel cot mattress that won’t break the bank.

The market is plagued by pesticide-rich crib bedding sets that do nothing good for your baby. Getting organic baby crib bedding may not only let your child sleep more comfortably, but it will also help you sleep, knowing that baby is as safe as he or she can possibly be. Organic crib sets usually come in a few colors that indicate their organic and natural nature. Colors such as wheat, which go well with many other wood-like baby items and nursery furniture you already may have.

The material used for organic crib bedding can vary. In some cases, a type of cotton treated with chemical repressives makes its way into consumer hands. A lot of popular manufacturers such as Graco and Simplicity use this type of product.

In other cases, and much more natural, only organic cotton with dyes that are AZO-free are used. This is by far the best approach. You usually get the bumper, crib sheets (usually two or three of these) and the blanket. The blanket is one of the most important things to keep as organic and safe as possible. There must be a compromise between keeping things natural and organic and also prevent bed mites from absolutely invading your baby’s crib. You don’t want that, believe me. So where is this compromise? Each baby furniture manufacturer has their own approach to this situation.

A popular one seems to be going over the cotton with one treatment of bed-mite protection. This has worked quite well, although there will always be people who oppose anything unnatural. The thing is, you are really leaving the door open for bed and dust mites / bugs to come and settle where your baby girl or buy sleeps! So while organic crib bedding still has a few things that need to be tweaked, it is certainly a great choice for the discerning parent.

Girl crib bedding is similar to the boy-ish styles. One of the only major differences is probably the colors that are used and features on the sheets and blankets. For baby girls, obvious choices are pink (hot pink, baby pink and other varieties) and other fluro-esque and bright colors that may not fit the boy’s nursery all that well. Other differences concern logos and other branding. For instance, don’t get the Powerpuff Girls as a blanket marking unless you have a bby girl to get crib bedding for.

One of the most important things to keep an eye out for when getting girl crib bedding is the thickness of the blanket. If you get a blanket that is too thick and your baby is too small (say, less than 6 months old) there is an intoxication risk that you definitely do not want to take. The other reason is also that in some warmer areas, the baby may get too warm underneath a blanket that is too big and thick.

Also, you should definitely not break the bank getting high quality thread baby crib bedding for your little girl. If we estimate the longevity of the crib bed sets at the moment, we can probably gauge two years for a new born. So if you really do spend a lot, after 2 years will it still be worth it? For some, yes. For others, no. One thing is for sure: expensive baby furniture generally has much higher resell value than the low-quality and lower-priced items. This is not always the case, though. Just don’t jump through the first salesman’s hoop. Check online retailers for the crib bedding guide and take a look at it. For girls crib bedding, you will need to do some more research later on before making a final decision.

Crib bedding sets don’t have to cost the world. With the internet at our fingertips, we have a network of websites and online merchants fighting for every dollar you are willing to spend. So finding information on a crib bedding sale is not very hard at all. You should start to check out some online retailers to see if they are having a sale on at the moment for their baby products, namely crib bedding and crib sets.

Discount crib bedding is not too hard to come across. Besides the usual list of e-tailers (electronic retailers doing business on the net) like Amazon (one of the biggest market places) and eBay (for used and new discount crib bedding), you also have your local stores like Target and any baby-specific nursery dept. stores you can check out today after hopping into your van. If you’re going to purchase your items separately, make sure you get matching products.

Let’s take an example. Say you find a wonderful, light sheet for your baby to sleep on. Well, you would want a matching blanket, right? Yes, of course. But many technical differences can make a huge impact on the way your baby sleeps and develops. Manufacturers often treat their baby products with non-toxic coats of baby bed-mite-fighting chemicals which are not harmful to baby alone but in the midst of another product with a different coating process, certain smells and toxins can actually be released due to microscopic formations made through these products.

I wholeheartedly recommend getting neutral patterns and colors — ones that will fit both boy and girls — if you are not sure about the sexual outcome of your baby. So if you are still expecting and have decided not to find out what sex your little one is going to be, getting a nice yellow or baby blue would be fitting for both a girl and boy. You should also make sure your nursery’s other baby furniture is not impacted by the introduction of bright colors. You may need to restructure and reposition a few things while keeping baby comfortable.

With so many poor-quality baby crib bedding sets out on the market today, you are not wrong for looking elsewhere. Designer crib bedding is becoming not only more and more popular but also more accessible to the every day consumer. At basically every online retailer you will now be able to find designer crib bedding sets with designs and premium material — both with picture previews and sometimes even video!

The best part of designer crib bed sets is that no shortcuts have been taken. All the material will be a perfect balance between natural and synthetic material, with 100% cotton sheets in the overwhelmingly large number of cases. The thread count on these baby crib sets is higher than your average product as well, so there’s definitely quality all around, making for an enjoyable shopping experience for you and sleeping / napping experience for your baby boy or little girl. Designer crib bedding sets are usually treated with non-toxic treatments that prevent lack of breathability and also repel dust and bed mites and bed bugs.

So overall the quality is unmatched by inferior products that you can find on shelves and so on, but that is not to say that designer crib sets are not available locally. Target stock a few different types in addition to their regular range, with fascinating and eye-catching unique designs that will make you say woah.

Yes, buying baby furniture for the nursery can really be this fun, especially when you’re going out to shop with a particular goal in mind. It doesn’t get any better than this as a parent. So go on, shop ’til you drop, but first check out the online stores for a quick visual comparison.

For parents looking to budget in this gloomy economic state we’re living in, getting things at bargain prices is seen as a great achievement and can keep some families afloat when otherwise they would be struggling. This is but one of the reasons some parents and future parents to be start looking at ways to get cheaper nursery furniture like baby cribs and travel cots. To find used baby cribs for sale, one must first understand where used baby furniture is sold, and also then the risks associated with purchasing used baby cribs.

When looking for used baby cribs and cots, you will want to ask about warranty and registration first of all. some manufacturers use the registration process and details to notify owners of recall notices and other important updates regarding the health of your baby and the stability of your baby crib. This registration has details that can be changed, and this should be looked into if you are buying from auction sites like eBay and so on. So do take a look at the descriptions and see if you can find anything about the baby’s safety concerns with regards to this.

Now as to where to purchase such used nursery items and baby furniture, you can try yard sales (or garage sales as some call them). You will definitely want to test the sturdiness and stability of a baby crib before making your final purchase decision. Checking used cribs out in person will also give you good decision information that will help you figure out whether this piece will fit with baby’s other items, and whether it’s actually big enough. Certainly an advantage. Sometimes on electronic retail sites you will also be able to find a used section where videos and pictures will tell a similar story, so do check it out as long as you are still in the market for used baby cribs and know what to look for.

Getting a 3 in 1 crib can be a very good decision for a parent or future parent. Whether you are expecting or not, it can be good to start considering your choice now. Plainly speaking, the 3-in-1 convertible crib is just that: convertible. This means you can change the function of the crib quite easily (actually, it’s a bit difficult sometimes; read the reviews before buying!) and you can expect the three in one to sport these possible baby crib configurations: the actual crib (standard stuff, obviously), toddler bed (good after about 18-22 months), and full-size bed (well, full-size meaning a regular kid’s bed, probably good for up to 6-7 years).

Some of the things to look out for when looking to purchase a 3 in 1 convertible crib for your newborn or nursery station are: a quality manufacturer, great reviews, and easy changing and re-configuring. So let’s look at a few of these.

The manufacturer needs to be well-known and should be respected and available and oft-seen in nursery department stores and places like Toys’R'Us and so on. For instance, Da Vinci, Baby Bjorn, Graco and Simmons are all great manufacturers that you can be sure have tested their own cribs to be as safe to babies as possible (with such processes as chemical interference detection so your baby is not breathing in harmful toxins and so on), and a lower recall rate. See, if you do decide to get a cheaper no-brand 3 in 1 convertible crib, you will probably be left a bit worried as many of these makers do not have a streamlined notification plan in case of necessary and important crib recalls. So if you do decide to get a 3-in-1 crib that is convertible, get one you know you can trust and have that peace of mind for you and baby.

A 4-in-1 convertible crib is one of those baby items that can be extremely practical. Sometimes the practicality of such nursery furniture can be detrimental to the aesthetics of this type of baby crib. For instance, sometimes when drawer cabinets are stationed underneath the crib bed, it can look like there is just too much going on, especially if the color across the crib is not consistent.

Generally, a 4-in-1 crib is a crib with four separate modes. By modes (and the ‘4 in 1′ in the crib title), we mean a regular crib, toddler bed, daybed and full size bed. To switch between modes, you can use the rails and certain folding and reconstructive mechanisms to modify the style of the crib! This is particularly enticing if you do plan to get one very good crib to accompany your baby all the way through to his or her toddler years. You may need to switch the mattress for the 4 in 1 crib as your little one grows up and needs more space, but other than that there is very little to change (except diapers and such! Hey, that’s a good use for the compartment beneath the crib if you got one of those Da Vinci pine models) in the future.

Sometimes getting a convertible crib can be a bad decision, or at least not the best one, especially if you are after quality for your baby and future toddler! Since more than one function needs to be incorporated into the baby cribs, getting one that is cheap or of lower quality (always check Amazon reviews or reviews at other e-tailers and web stores!) can be a terrible decision if longevity was a goal for the 4 in 1 crib you want to t get.
